YOU CAN LIVE FREE OF PAIN
All of us experience pain. For sufferers of chronic pain, quality of life, productivity, and the simple ability to be present to life and loved ones can be significantly impaired. Narcotic medications may relieve pain, but have side effects, don't treat the cause of pain, and hold a potential for increasing dependency within a system that imposes arbitrary restrictions on amounts prescribed. What's more, the subjective nature of pain often results in a lack of understanding and empathy on the part of professionals commissioned to address pain.
My treatment focuses on working with my client with the shared goal to improve and establish good quality of life and functionality, as he or she defines it. I seek to correct the patterns of imbalance that cause pain and, within that context, to reduce discomfort now. Acupuncture, massage therapy, meditation, movement education and exercise can reduce dependency on medication and give patients the tools and energy to take control of their condition and regain a normal, functional life.
Answering Stress, Anxiety and Depression
Stress plays a role in all of our lives and contributes to all diseases and conditions. We establish unconscious patterns (of posture, movement, thinking, emotional response, and addiction) in response to stress which can create pain, dysfunction, and emotional turmoil. Treatment brings these patterns into awareness, reestablishes flexibility of mind and body, and offers tools to better cope with life's challenges.
Depression and Anxiety are monumental conditions in their own right, and a huge factor adding to (and stemming from) other serious conditions. Acupuncture and massage help correct deep energetic imbalances at the root of these disharmonies, as well as providing relaxation and encouraging a present centered awareness that helps calm and focus the mind. Complementing conventional therapies, my treatment allows patients to be treated and heard, through holistic methods, in a nurturing space.
